Instituto Tecnológico para el Control del Medio Marino de Galicia (INTECMAR), Spain.
Intecmar specializes in the control and observation of biotoxins in bivalve mollusks and other sea organisms within the production areas of Galicia. It serves as the Competent Authority for determining the opening or closure of these production areas and operates as the Reference Laboratory of the Public Administration of Galicia for marine biotoxins.
Within the ALERTOX-NET project, Intecmar plays a crucial role, particularly in WP6, where it serves as a Control Organization at the regional level byt their active participation extends across various work packages. Intecmar’s specialized role as a Competent Authority and Reference Laboratory in marine biotoxins ensures that its contributions significantly enhance the project’s capacity to address marine toxicity concerns and implement effective alert systems in the Galician region.
